Garbage Collection
Council provides a domestic garbage service throughout Clifton and Nobby. For new services or concerns in relation to uncollected bins contact Council’s Administration Office, on telephone (07) 4697 4222. Pickup is on Mondays.
Health Inspections
Council routinely inspects food premises, hairdressing premises, fuel storage premises, hotels, motels and other premises licensed with Council.
Home And Community Care (HACC)
Council provides a Home and Community Care Service for the Frail and Aged residents of the Shire. To be assessed for this service please contact Councils Administration Office on phone (07)4697 4222.
Immunisation
Council provides free immunisation services to high school students for certain vaccine preventable diseases. Immunisation Clinics are held regularly. Enquiries should be directed to Clifton State High School to the School Nurse on (07)4697 3255 or Council’s Environmental Health Officer on telephone (07) 46 97 4222 on the Second and Fourth Tuesday of the Month.

Land Sales
For information concerning the availability for sale of Council Residential and Industrial Lands, please contact Council’s Rates Department, on telephone (07) 4697 4214.
Library & Community Centre
Clifton Library and Community Centre is located in Meara Place, Clifton, and is free to ratepayers of the shire. Non ratepayers are charged a refundable deposit of $25.00. Photocopying, laminating, Internet, word processing and closed circuit TV (for the practically blind) services are available during library hours.

The Library and Community Centre also consists of two Meeting Rooms which are available for hire free of charge during office hours. Night meetings are free of charge if a staff member or councillor is present otherwise a charge of $40.00 an hour is applicable.

Licences
Approvals and licenses are required to undertake a range of activities including the operation of hairdressing and/or skin penetration premises, caravan parks, motels, roadside advertising signs, storage of flammable and combustible liquids, licences under the Environmental Protection Act, food premises and places of amusement. • Passmore Reserve – the reserve is a popular bush camping and fishing area providing access to the Condamine River
Payment Options
All payments are accepted by the following methods: -
(a) In person at Council’s Administration Office, between the hours of 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday with cash, cheque or money order.
(b) By Mail - PO Box 74, Clifton Q 4361 - cheques and money orders accepted – no cash by post.
Rates are payable by using the above methods or one of the following: -
(c) Direct Debit - arrangements for a Direct Debit can be made at Council’s Rates Department, 70 King Street, Clifton or by telephoning 46974214.
(d) Bpay - contact your participating financial institution to make the payment from a Savings or Cheque Account. Credit card payments are available.
Pensioner Discounts
Pensioners in receipt of full or part pensions may be eligible for a rebate of rates in relation to their owner-occupier dwelling. Inquiries can be made with Council’s Administration Office Ph. (07) 4697 4222.
Property Information
Details of land descriptions, zonings, development approvals and any environmental constraints or hazards that may affect the land, can be obtained from Council. Some enquiries may require payment of a fee.
Rates
Council’s rates notices are issued yearly. Payment is required by the due date depicted on the notice. Council allows a 10% discount if payment is received by the due date.
Refuse Disposal
Council maintains the following Refuse Disposal Sites for use by residents of the Clifton Shire:
Clifton Town Refuse Disposal Site (Logan Road)
Ellangowan Refuse Disposal Site (Toowoomba – Karara Highway)
Pilton Refuse Disposal Site (Mackie Road)
